Our Behavioral Health division provides intensive mental health services, case management, medication management, residential group homes for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, in-home support for children with developmental disabilities, and substance use disorder services to those in need. Our experienced team of professionals are trained to assist your loved one in developing necessary life skills using a strength-based approach.

We hire highly-qualified individuals to provide services in the client’s home, as well as approved community settings. Our team of clinicians and supervisors work with you to complete a comprehensive assessment of your loved one’s needs to build an individualized treatment plan. Our goal-oriented, individualized plans are built on your family’s needs and your loved one’s strengths.



Children's Services

Home and Community-Based Treatment (HCT)

Our caring, compassionate clinical team empathizes with the difficult behaviors that you are dealing with at home. We understand that families are hectic, schedules are full, and when you add in a child with behavioral concerns, everything gets more challenging. We work collaboratively with your family and team to help improve your lives, decrease behavioral outbursts and provide more stability for long-term success.

When you enlist the help of HCT, one of our highly-trained clinicians will come to your home to gather information. During this assessment period, you will have the opportunity to discuss your current situation and how you’d like to see services move forward. Your designated Behavioral Health Professional will work on the outlined goals that are established by your family to teach new strategies and coping skills. This service runs over the course of 6 months, with the goal to help you transition to Outpatient Counseling or another less intensive support program.

Specialized Rehabilitative and Community Support Services

Our Specialized Rehabilitative and Community Support Services (also called Specialized 28 in Maine) serves children ages 2-21. Within this program, we work with clients and their families to develop social skills, functional communication, safety, and activities of daily living. . We utilize ABA or applied behavior analysis, the gold standard of treatment and individualized, strengths-based approach that partners client and family with your child’s team of Behavior Health Professionals (BHP) that have received additional training to become Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) and Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) to most effectively develop the skills your family identifies as the most important. Whether your goal is developing verbal language, safety skills, boundaries, or a hygiene routine, our team guides you in the most successful methods to reach your goals. Together we create a unique plan, tailored specifically for your child.

Case management (also called Behavioral Health Homes or BHH

Our energetic team of care managers love connecting families with resources in their communities. It is truly a passion of theirs! They meet with you to help establish your child’s needs and begin brainstorming and gathering information. As they come across available programs or supports, they will coordinate with you to send in a referral or an application. The goal of our Behavioral Health Home is to ensure that your child has access to the available resources in the community and that you as a parent or caregiver know how to get them.

While in our Behavioral Health Home program, your family has a comprehensive team made up of the following: care manager, program manager, Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist, clinical supervisor, psychologist, nurse, and doctor. The team meets regularly to review cases and brainstorm additional resources available.

Outpatient Therapy

Our caring, compassionate clinical team empathizes with the difficulties we all face on a daily basis. We understand that schedules are hectic, relationships get strained and our mental wellness can take a backburner in life. We work with you to individualize your goals and find a treatment approach that works best for you, your family or your loved one. We can work in your home, one of our main offices or our locations in Augusta or Rockland. We are available in select school districts as well.

We offer a wide variety of outpatient services, including but not limited to:

Day Treatment

Our day treatment program collaborates with schools while working with children that have behavioral, academic and/or developmental disabilities. Our clinical team, which consists of a clinical supervisor, a licensed clinician and behavioral health professionals, works with the educational staff to customize individualized treatment plans in accordance to each student’s needs.

While enrolled in our day treatment program we will work with you on mastering your goals and focus on treatment as outlined in the individualized education and treatment plans. These may include:

  • 1-on-1 support in the self-contained classroom
  • Behavior modification
  • Behavior management
  • Increase the child’s academic performance
  • Customized team approach
  • Attend IEP meetings and provide feedback to the team to help customize the approach to working with the child
  • The ultimate goal will be to get the child back into the mainstream classroom!

Medication Management

Medication management services are provided by our nurse practitioner who is able to prescribe medication to help clients, both children and adults, manage symptoms such as attention deficit, panic, anxiety, depression and trauma issues. Medications can help stabilize and give back the energy needed to address challenges and improve functioning. Our provider prescribes and monitors medication. Clients are seen for follow up appointments to evaluate and adjust treatment.

Adult Services

Case management (also called Behavioral Health Homes or BHH)

While in our Behavioral Health Home you have a comprehensive team made up of a care manager, program manager, peer support specialist, clinical supervisor, psychologist, nurse, and doctor. The team meets regularly to review cases and brainstorm additional resources available.

Targeted Case Management

We offer targeted case management to those 18 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our Case Managers help individuals access employment, education, housing, social and other supports, and necessary medical services. They work with individuals, families, service providers, and other agencies to create a Person-Centered Plan (PCP) based on a comprehensive assessment of each individual’s needs. In addition, Case Managers assist individuals and parents or guardians in navigating the service system. We offer representative payee services as well.

Daily Living Skills (DLS)

Our DLS program provides 1-on-1 in-home care to adults living with chronic mental illness in order to assist them in achieving the highest level of independence possible. The goal of this program is to allow adults living with mental illness to live a fulfilling life and be able to access their local community successfully. Our team works with clients to establish their goals and define what it means for them to be successful. We provide personal supervision and therapeutic support with tasks and skills of daily living including, but not limited to budgeting, organizing, and running errands.

Behavioral Consultation Services

Behavioral Consultation Services are for clients with developmental disabilities that continue to need support in adulthood living at home as well as those who qualify for a Section 21 residential waiver. Through this program, BCBAs meet with individuals and their families at home or with their teams in their residential settings, addressing any challenging behaviors that may be interfering with a successful living at home or a residential placement. Our BCBAs can provide this service for our internal clients as well as for other agencies whose clients need behavioral plans written.

Opioid Health Home: The Opioid Health Home is a collaborative and integrative way of receiving comprehensive substance use treatment on an outpatient level, including medication assisted treatment. While in our OHH you will receive counseling, medication, recovery coach support and generalized case management services*. Once in our OHH the client’s will meet with their assigned nurse and doctor to identify and create a medication assisted treatment recovery plan. After that is established they will meet with the doctor on a monthly basis, as well as receive regular counseling and peer support from trained recovery coaches (based on their individualized treatment needs). The level of intensity of the treatment will depend on each individual client and where they are in their sobriety.
This service is being offered throughout Maine at any of our office locations, by appointment. It is a MaineCare based program with free programming for those that qualify. Do not hesitate to contact us to see if you qualify.

*While in the OHH program clients have access to a patient navigator and nurse case manager to assist in their treatment, many members in the OHH also receive outside care management in programs such as Behavioral Health Homes (see above)
